The main objective of this research is to evaluate and depict a pyramid hierarchy of officer’s needs of Imam Khomeini Maritime Science University of Noshahr. Questionnaires are used as the research instrument to collect the necessary data. Validity of the questionnaire was approved by content analysis. The questionnaire’s reliability coefficient was 0.929. Minimum sample size was 96. Of the 120 questionnaires distributed, 111 questionnaires were valid for statistical analysis. The KMO, Bartlett, mean, t-test, and ANOVA tests along with Pearson correlation coefficient and goodness of fit test (SPSS 19 and Lisrel 8.8 softwares) were used to analyse the collected data. Conceptual model proposed by the fitting model indexes including GFI, AGFI, RMSEA, CFI and NFI as well as t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient were analysed. The results of this research revealed that for the officers of the university, their needs, in order of their importance, are the needs of being respected, psychological, social, self-actualisation and safety needs. Finally, this study, according to the ranked needs and also to motivate the target population, made a couple of recommendations that include more respects from commanders to their subordinates. In case of any mistake or wrongdoing, the dignity of the personnel of the organisation is to be maintained. The personnel’s mood is to be taken into consideration. Instead of constantly ordering, commanders can accomplish the tasks more gently. A sense of fairness can be observed throughout of the department. Commanders are to act stronger in their leadership and management tasks.
